Got an idea for enhancing PureBasic? New command(s) you'd like to see?

It is sad that the OP is so incredibly unhappy with PB.

No language is perfect, but PB manages to tick more boxes than any other language.

Sometimes a little bit of coding is needed to achieve a task, and it's no big deal. The multi-line tooltip code offered is like what, maybe 20 lines of code? Just take it and enjoy it, OP. I'm using an 885-line Date file (module) just so my app can show dates after the year 2038. You gotta do what you gotta do.

And in the recent tooltip solutions, the community is extremely helpful in providing working examples people can use or learn from. Here, people do not get told to read MSDN (which if you do not understand how to do something in the first place, MSDN isn't a huge help) like they do in other communities.

I trust Fred & Freak to know what is best for their product and its future. They have NOT let us down, yet!
Best wishes to the PB community. Thank you for the memories. ♥️

I'm looking for a native PB WebView
See last line of new blog article (Upgrading the Windows build chain)

I would pay 49 euros each year, the same price as Spiderbasic.
I wonder who would do the same. What about a poll?

IMHO all opinions on this have already been written.
So, what is holding you back. Use the "Make a Donation" button on the download page.
Or use the "private sponsoring" option.
See here as well:
What Fred said to this subject.
Just because it worked doesn't mean it works.
PureBasic 6.04 (x86) and <latest stable version and current alpha/beta> (x64) on Windows 11 Home. Now started with Linux (VM: Ubuntu 22.04).

Yes, I read Fred's comment.
I think a "payment for some work in return" is a more solid cooperation than a "hope they will donate - hope they will work on PB".
Be sure I often donated a lot to open source projects and often with no real visible benefit.
I understand the team point of view. I thought there could be more team work like:
- I have this idea for PB
- nice! I'll do it so that everyone can benefit

But this can't be viable if everyone just hopes...

Expecting something "visible", as you say, by donating to a freeware project, is a bit shortsighted. You support the creator and support the product to stay free. This doesn't garantee new features or whatever.

To me you sound like "I want to pay, but expect regularly updates" and this is not how it works. You can maybe expect this from Google or some company with hundreds of employees, but for now, we only have one Fred. Nobody stops you from donating regularly or spontaneously. But these donations aren't meant to grant this or that.

Also, if you really need a specific feature, you can contact Fred and donate for this. This has been done before. And the result is available for all of us, not just for Premium or Pro members or whatever. This would divide the community and kill PureBasic.

Just my two cents...
Good morning, that's a nice tnetennba!
