How to install japbe?

Post by Valgar »

Hallo.
I've downloaded the japbe and all i see in my download folder is an icon of a floppy(it seems to me..) named japbe, and if i click on it...nothing happens!
There are something wrong with my decruncher(i use winrar) or other problem?
I'm using the ultimate PB demo (the 3.9 i think).
Thanks.

It's supposed to be an installer. What OS do you have? The installer doesn't work to well for me either(Win2k) , i.e. nothing happends when i start the file. It may or may not have to do with the fact that i was not using an admin account on my system when i tried the install. I have never bothered since as i use Ultra-Edit instead..

It's a general purpose editor that you have to setup with proper 'WORDFILE' etc to handle purebasic syntax.
JAPBE is based on the original PB Editor and is custom made for the PB basic dialect and have a lot of inbuild tools to help you, many which UE doesn't have...

Perhaps GPI the author of JAPBE can help you sort this out?

Have sorted the problem....it's my fault with the user account of win2k :P
I have tried with administrator privileges and all go ok now!

You'll like it.

It is a major bit of work and crash hot, lots of depth. And all the PB sources, the scite/scintilla stuff, etc etc.

When somebody found out, how to reproduce this bug under winxp, please contact me!

Btw: As a little Workaround: how can i detect under 2000, if the user is running as a administrator?

btw: for a correct installation:
download here:
http://caosandkin.bei.t-online.de/pureb ... d%20older/

NeededTools.exe
jaPBe.exe

and install both.

When you use 3.91 Beta 1/2

Download here:
http://caosandkin.bei.t-online.de/purebasic/jaPBe/

beta4.zip

(and when you use the installer, download the installer-hotfix).

I think Fred once made a procedure to detect this, should be in the Tips n' Tricks section..
