Compiler jaPBe

Post by Raymund »

:D
Hello Gentlemen,
congratulations to all those involved in creating PureBASIC. I've bought it from Conrad Electronic in Berlin, and have been busy using it on my XP since. Its teaching me how to program in Widows, since i found all earlier 'Visual' stuff a lot of bull.

I have a problem with the jaPBe editor which i downlloaded and installed together with Tools, yesterday. When i use it, it cannot see my compiler. When i use PB by itself with default editor, its no problem.

When i reinstall again, and change the Preferences/(restart) section and write in /Compliers, the whole program crashes.

How do i set up this editor to see where the compiler is, without crashing?

Thank you.

Hi !
You're very wrong with your question here in "Announcement". Please make sure you post in "Beginners" next time !

After a fast look to Conrad Electronic I figured out you bought the "PROFESSIONAL" version of Purebasic. Unfortunately the "PROFESSIONAL" version is everything except "PROFESSIONAL". Its just Purebasic Version 3.3 and you can't update it !!! (note: the PROFESSIONAL version is 35 Euros and the normal updateable version is about 60 Euros). This answers also your question why jaPBe isn't working.

You need to do the following:
1. Buy an upgrade from the PROFESSIONAL to the standart version of Purebasic. You got the Boxed Topos version ...
http://www.purebasic.com/ordering.php3
2. Get the newest jaPBe version and install it. (you can also ask in the german forum again ... http://www.purebasic.de)

Search for "PROFESSIONAL" here in the forum and you will find a lot of angry people who bought the "PROFESSIONAL" version ..

My last word:
You did very right to buy Purebasic, ist a simple and very powerful programming language. You just got the wrong version ..

MFG

welcome to purebasic, don't be afraid to ask your questions in here... any questions... after reading the faq, the included examples, and the seaching the forum of course :-)

even then... better ask a question too much than not enough :-)
