After updating to Ventura 13.5.2 (22G91) and also updated to Xcode Version 15.0 (15A240d)

I get the following error:
PureBasic.0 quit unexpectedly.
PureBasic Debugger The debugged executable quit unexpectedly,
Waiting for executable to start...
The debugged executable quit unexpectedly.

Can't compile or run anything;
Uninstalled PureBasic and reinstalled it again and I get the same error.

This is the simple code I am running to make sure is simple:
Debug "Hello World"

Sounds like something in xcode 15 broke something. These are the release notes for xcode 15: https://developer.apple.com/documentati ... ease-notes

I read the Notes and do not understand what can be making PureBasic 6.02 LTS (MacOS X - x64) useless; there are lots of changes and fixes for release 15 of Xcode.

To summarize it all the first line of the Xcode 15 Release Notes would suggest that this has to be solved by PureBasic:

"Xcode 15 Release Notes. Update your apps to use new features, and test your apps against API changes."

Since this is way beyond what I can do and until this issue is further looked upon and fixed, be careful when updating to Ventura 13.5.2 (22G91) and Xcode Version 15.0 (15A240d) since PureBasic 6.02 LTS (MacOS X - x64)

As a side note...don't know if it helps...I'm seeing a similar issue (posted about in general discussion) and it seemed to correlate to an update in the command line tools for Xcode.

It makes no difference if the app has been compiled with or without the debbuger support, it crashes in both instances.
When I compile without debbuger support and double click on the PureBasic.0 I get this error:

So as temporal workaround until PureBasic publishes a working compatible version and in order to keep working with PureBasic for the current project I uninstalled Xcode Version 15.0 (15A240d) and also uninstalled Command Line Tools for Xcode 15.0
Then I Downloaded and installed from Apple
Xcode_14.3.1.xip
Command_Line_Tools_for_Xcode_14.3.1.dmg
All this under:
ProductName: macOS
ProductVersion: 13.6
BuildVersion: 22G120

Currently I have to finish current PureBasic project and then I will have to update to macOS Sonoma 14.0 to develop and test other software, by then I hope there will be a compatible version of PureBasic with macOS Sonoma.

The pbcompilerc, PureBasic 6.02 LTS - C Backend (MacOS X - x64), was installed from:
/Applications/PureBasic.app/Contents/Resources/compilers/pbcompilerc

When compiled with the pbcompilerc the problems described in posts above do not happen, it compiles perfect using the debbuger and then the debbuger can be used with all its tools.

The created executable compiled with debbuger and using pbcompilerc works perfect
The created executable compiled without debbuger and using pbcompilerc works perfect

When using pbcompiler, PureBasic 6.02 LTS (MacOS X - x64), the problems described in posts above remain.

Fred, please advise if it's ok to upgrade - from the point of view of compatibility of PureBasic 6.02 LTS (MacOS X - x64) - from macOS Ventura 13.6 to macOS 14 Build 23A344 Sonoma.

Thanks for the testing. I upgraded to the XCode 15 and facing the same issue on x64 using the asm compiler. It might be an XCode issue as the asm code hasn't be changed, so let's wait if there is a fix. In the meantime, I will probably switch the asm compiler with the C one for OS x64 as I have no clue of what's happening here (so all OS X will have the same default compiler (M1/M2 and x64) which is probably better anyway).

It looks like this kind of error: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/727680 which was fixed with an XCode update.
