WarGame Player

Post by Phollyer »

Folks, I wrote this a couple years ago, and decided today to put it on my website for those interested to download. This is the Game player, with a three stage Tutorial game. Who goes first is randomly decided by the computer. This is my representation of the old Board games. There is a lack of documentation, my apologies in its stead I have 6 or 7 @ 5 minute video's, the first three are uploaded. This is a freebee. Your only cost is to please give feedback.

You are Napoleon, Wellington has invaded Fance and you have a very limited time to destroy his army and capture him.
Scenario 2, is ALL Naval. You MUST cross the Channel and land troops on English Soil.
Scenario 3. You must Conquer all of London.

These are not really balanced scenarios, it's designed to teach all aspects of game play...but they are challenging.

There IS a Creator which handles all the Building Aspects of creating scenarios. Depending on Response and feedback I may release it as well. I am currently working on Version 3, which has Player vs Player across LAN, as well as Player vs. AI.

Let me know what you think.

Pete

You asked...

1. Although I have zero interest in the subject of the game itself, this does look awesome.
2. ALL of your products, the screenshots look fabulous. No blurry text, so ProGUI obviously is handling the DPI issues well, or you are. Either way, the text looks awesome in all of your screenshots. Very professional,
3. On the product pages, that green background and yellow text is fairly blinding if you have a remotely decent screen. I can't look at it too long as I get a migraine. But, this is just me, but it is bright.
4. This screenie, WOW! Top notch and extremely well done!

You have truly have done an awesome job on this. Nice to see ProGUI in action on some things that are more impressive to me, than the way ProGUI has looked in the past on other apps which have been more "standard" looking. Zero disrespect to ProGUI, never bought it due to it not accepting PayPal Credit for whatever reason (which was all I had at the time), but I was always impressed by the demos and performance.

If ProGUI is still being sold, Chris really needs to put some shots of your stuff on his site under the examples section.
Best wishes to the PB community. Thank you for the memories. ♥️

Wow! Thanks for your Glowing Compliments. I'm Speechless...which IS saying something for me.
The War Game as ONLY PureBasic, No ProGUI, so far I've only use ProGUI for Menus in my new Applications. My Wife has the SAME Comments on the website colors...which IS due for a makeover one of these weekends, I'll be sure to make that particular color combination history.

Thanks a LOT for the feedback.
