Everything else that doesn't fall into one of the other PB categories.

Post by USCode »

I'm chomping at the bit in anticipation of the new version of the Visual Designer! :D Any chance it will be available when PB 3.91 goes gold?
Thanks!

If I remember correctly, the warez kiddies coined the word "Gold" which means, "final" release. Then the word was quickly used from there..

Im assuming he means "final version".

Gold = non-beta.
I compile using 5.31 (x86) on Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit).

well, actually, it's a game (gaming industry) term, loosely used when a product is no longer beta, but considered relaese ready, and being released / distributed / ordered at a certain number

but, as there is no clear definition, products that are still unfinished but sold (i'm not talking about windows now :-)) in certain quantities are considered 'gold' as well

hmmm

Due to professional reasons, I have currently no spare time to work on the Visual Designer.

I started my own company, wich means working long days. Even had no time to fire up my mac and test PbMac.

I stay in close contact with Fred, and hope to continue on the Visual Designer in januari.

Success to you, Berikco.

PS: Is it possible to have someone else take on the project?

I too, was hoping someone else would continue development on it, while Berikco can't work on it...

(btw: I found some serious bugs when working with multiple windows.. :()

hehe, I've been working around those serious bugs for a long time....ARGH!....
If you switch windows without minimizing them, random gadgets get mixed up with windows and take on all their properties/dimentions/name... It can totally ruin what you're working on... I would love if somebody could continue work on it... I have zero free time but I'd prolly sneek a look to see if I could fix that bug!...

Congratulation Berikco and good luck to you!

:?: As VD is distributed with PB as the default Visual Designer, will Fred now take over it's development? Or maybe Fr34k?

Fred or Timo can work on it, they have the sources.
So if they can buy some time in the supermarket.... :twisted:

@Berikco:

Sad to hear that you have no more spare time for any further VD develop-
ment. However, I wish you good luck and a lot of success for your
own company. Guess it is an exciting time for you right now :?:

However, please no more extra work for Fred and fr34k :!:
Let them concentrate on further PureBasic updates and bugfixes...
regards,
benny!

well.. IMHO it won't do any good to have a feature-packed PureBasic, if people aren't able to work with multiple windows designs...

yes, I know it *can* be done, when fiddling with it manually, but that really isn't an option when working with medium->big forms.. (ie windows with 10+ items)

My opinion is that the current VD shipped with PB, should be atleast fairly bug free, so that we can use it properly..
(Even better if Berikco's newest version is released :twisted: :twisted: )
well.. that's my 2 cents though.. :)
