Now, for anyone offended by Shannara, here's a basic program to help the problem:
Code: Select all
#HappyLevel=100 ;/Percentage of the time a smile is randomly added
String$=GetClipboardText()
String$=ReplaceString(String$,"horrible","wonderful")
String$=ReplaceString(String$,"bad","decent")
String$=ReplaceString(String$,"dont expect","expect")
String$=ReplaceString(String$,":(",":)")
String$=ReplaceString(String$,"count me out ","count me in")
String$=ReplaceString(String$,"last thing I need","what I need")
String$=ReplaceString(String$,"newbie","person of moderate intelligence")
String$=ReplaceString(String$,"disadvatage","advantage")
String$=ReplaceString(String$,"screwed up","did a good job")
For x=1 To Len(String$) ;/Add Cheer
c$=Mid(String$,x,1)
If (c$="." Or c$="?" Or c$="!") And Random(99)<#HappyLevel
String$=Left(String$,x)+" :) "+Right(String$,Len(String$)-x)
EndIf
Next
SetClipboardText(String$)Who's good at fuzzy logic?
example output:
Lord of the Rings?Never read the books, did see the wonderful movies

Lol, not a troll, unless your offended by such comments, for some odd reason. LOTR movie series is very aweful, IMO. A very long (I only saw them in the theaters), and drawn out movie(s).
Take it this way, all Flash and no substance doesnt make a movie for me. Add in several low/slow parts to the movie, makes it.... a PITA to watch. I only watched it because my wife wanted to see how badly they butchered the book series... and according to her, and just about everybody else who is a J.R.R. Tolken fan say the same.
I didn't care, I never read the books. And if I were shallow enough to judge the series by the movies, I would never read the books...
However, Im more into movies who have substance and not all (mostly) flash.
Now this is way off topic

Really? Funny that I and a rather large group of friends enjoyed the movies and are avid Tolkien readers. They stayed *very* close to the book(s) in the movie(s), I thought. Of course there were lots of details that were dropped in an effort to trim the fat but the whole of the story was left very well intact IMHO. If you've not read the books then I don't know why in the world you'd even have an opinion on the subject.Shannara wrote:Take it this way, all Flash and no substance doesnt make a movie for me. Agreed, went over very well with all the older fans of the series. Those of us used to seeing Hollywood butcher classics routinely. A few slow periods and the love story was a bit more than the series, however overall A+ for not ruining it.Karbon wrote:

And, some people, believe it or not, go to movies to watch movies
ah... books...
one of my favorite subjects, especially anything sf / fantasy...
lotr is a hefty read, and slow, you gotta' see it in perspective, the time it was written, the background of the author
for many of today's readers it's rather slow and somewhat boring, in spite of all the events taking place
if it's too slow, you might try eddings, he did 'borrow' quite a bit...
