Although there are big grammatical exceptions, which make me rage, I love the English*.
Although I have an indescribable hatred against the possible installation of a monarch** in France, I watch with compassion the loss of a queen, who, long before I was born, had ambitions of solid links between France and England.
As an indication, if our Head of State were to disappear, we would fall, de facto (under French law), into a monarchy.
But, let's skip this parenthesis on French law, and come to the point.
She was the symbol of the hell that life inflicts much more on women than on men: to be beautiful, then to see her beauty eluded.
She has been the contemporary symbol of all those who brave this pervasive hell in every home on the planet.
A symbol that leaves, so, dear English, maybe you can talk about it. In a period when women's rights are weakened and are melting away, you can talk about it. In a period when this disastrous melting is hidden by difficult news, if this woman seems to you to have brought some logic, you can create a subject, because, me, just French, neighbor of the English, I really hallucinate to discover suddenly.. . a king.

* : in french, this is LES Anglais << thes Englishs >>. And the American have followed and kept all these mistakes on each word... gurp...
** : in french, this is UNE OU UN monarque << a monarch, woman or man >> Here, in France, there are accents all over the vowels, I admit, it's dirty. But as soon as I try to translate slightly literary stuff into English, it's a disaster. We are dirty, but then you are a little careless!

Re: A suggestion for the English
Politicians come and go, but the monarchy is a constant.
Elizabeth II has been a sterling example of duty and service and she will be greatly missed.
Long live the king

Absolutely, respected and appreciated.
She will fill the history books now and she will remain in the hearts of many people, not just the English.
Long live the King ♔
