jaPBe bug with McAfee VirusScan Professional Edition 7.03?

Post by DARKGuy »

Greetings!

My dear and loved antivirus McAfee is the best virus scanner I've ever found. I have it activated all the time, but when I run jaPBe, it's like if he doesn't load the compiler and I can't compile a program, but when I disable it, and run jaPBe, it loads correctly...

bug?

Yes, but i think in McAfee. Try same with IDE (i would be a big surprise, when it works).

BTW: What error-message gives japbe? A timeout? Then try a higher-Timeout-Time (open the japbe-pref). Maybe the virusscanner check the pcompiler.exe first befor running and then a timeout is possible.

Timeouts? I'll check on jaPBe options...

BTW I'm gonna see if with McAfee the IDE does the same or not...and no, jaPBe doesn't throw any error message, it just disables the compile, run and debug toolbar buttons :S

oops, sorry for the late reply :(...

The PB IDE works perfectly, but jaPBe doesn't. Also, I think that are the timeouts, because in one opportunity my PC was loading a lot of things (with McAfee disabled) and when jaPBe finished loading, the same happened. Also I searched on the jaPBe options and I didn't found anything related about timeouts...there's any way to make that waiting time longer?

i mean the file "japbe.pref", not in the preferences.
PB has no timeout. When the compiler hangs, the editor hangs too.

oh...and you can't do the same with jaPBe? if the editor hangs, it'll show a message error, for example? I tried with timeout 20000 and timeout 50000 and nothing :S

I insert it, because it could happen, that the answering-message from the structure-Viewer/Compiler don't reach jaPBe and so the program can be looped (When i remember right: IDE hasn't a test and can be looped)

Ok, a Compiler-TimeOut-Message should be possible
I tried with timeout 20000 and timeout 50000 and nothing :S
Try "project>Restart compiler". What happend then (please report all new messages in the infobox under the editor)
