It works with 6DX, at http://www.aztica.com, well actually work with most DLL based 3D engine, unfortunately you have to pay money for 6DX, dunno other engines, maybe go SourceForge for more engines.

Well, everyone needs to do something for living.

I played with PureBasic and the 6DX 3D engine in december 2001
and it worked really good, BUT 6DX is goin to be only OOP
and this isnt easy to handle. You have to use CallCOM()
for every call and for writing a big game this isnt a real
solution IMHO.

No plans that we have to pay for the update? You know I have bad experience from Blitz...

I agree Holger. Fred, please keep updates of any kind for PB free. We already have paid enough money for the PB-fullversion.
PS: Can you post a screenshot of the 3d-commands? Please, only ONE screenshot if possible :)

implemented.
1. Fast and short Exes. Like always in PB :)
2. Good Commands Design ( BlitzBasic is not bad in this , DarkBasic
is not so good in Language Design)
3. Inbuild Particel Engine (really fast). DBPro has a good one.
Blitz has nothing.
There ar many Particle Engines in the Web but only in C++.
I know only a bit C. Classes are not my Thing.
4. Using PB-Gadgets in the 3D Engine to make World-Builders and
such Things.I hate it to make always images for this. Blitz
has many such gui-creators but you must first learn it.

Hi Fred, can we see some screenies from the first 3d commands?

Not as much as i have paid for Blitz3D (yes i used it before PB), but i think Fred deserves something for his great work.
It would be also possible that he just takes donations from people which would do that...

After all, there are also some other coders developing libs for Purebasic (You know who you are), and i dont think that everything can be free.

Its one thing if you post some source code you made in a couple of hours or days, but that really usefull stuff is alot of work for the developers... the price shouldnt just be too high!

Let me come to that Screenshot of an 3D engine and that Particles...
you could already code a particle engine at its current state, and you should better wait for the 3D stuff to be in alpha or beta... a screenshot cannot say very much about the engine (points at another language:)) and i think it is better to get a good and stable product.

After all i can tell you that i have never seen a developer of a language doing that much for his community, and just because of this i think purebasic has a GREAT and PROMISING future...

my 2 cents...

Sounds like a good idea to me.

Fred doesnt want to charge for any updates, so dont get
annoying with that. PB is not BB.

The upgrade will remain free, I promized it. No way to chance this, even when full 3D support will be within it. About a screenshot, hum... launch Quake3 :).

Keep the PB itself upgrade free is a good idea, however, if the 3D Cammands are released as a "paid plugin", it's still very reasonable, and users who need 3D will definitely buy it.
