I recommend PB to many coworkers and friends - from everyone I get the feedback that they won't use a language which lacks of essential programming tools (this is what they say after downloading the demo...). Sure - you have the choice - but: Why not ship the best editor by default and give those who want an alternative...
I for example bought PB and the first step was getting rid of the ugly editor - I started using PB with Editplus - used then PWS's Scintilla version and finally found jaPBe.
In my optinion (I'm a lazy programmer) a programming language without a good editor is worth almost nothing.
Having a choice is not bad at all but why the hell don't you include jaPBe as standard to the package - it really sucks - each time you install the package you have to find the corresponding jaPBe update (and its definetly the most advanced, best or call it whatever you want editor for PB).
All in all: Replace the original editor with jaPBe - it's simple evolution - only the best will survive
