Everything else that doesn't fall into one of the other PB categories.

How about coding a Purebasic Tech Demo?!

Iam sure alot of people would decide for Purebasic if they would see some cool stuff made with PB.

Iam talking about the Game Creation/Demo scene, and alot of ppl simply dont know whats possible with Purebasic and whats not (what could this be?).

I know most of you code apps with Purebasic, but i mostly code games with Purebasic (working on an strategic sim called ELVEN), and i think we could get alot of new users into this forum if we could slap a little demo together.

Iam sure iam not the best coder around in this forums, but i might be one of the better Musicians, and would be happy to contribute something.

Tell me what you think about this idea...

I think its a great idea, and i think Fred would be also pleased if he could sell some more copys and see the community growing... so?!

so long,

Kendrel

If you want to see some games made with PureBasic, you can always check out Lady's Garden or Hostile Skies. They both show off lots of cool features available in PB if you want to use it to make Games.

also check out

Rings also made a cool graphic demo called "It Can Be Done"

I think it would be great if more people would take a short break from the serious app making and relax by making a fun game :)

Enjoy!

That's a good idea. I can't focus on a game for now (obvious reasons...) but I believe we can do professionnal quality game with PureBasic.

I have seen all games made with Purebasic i think, but none of them used most of that nice features Purebasic can give you.

I have also seen that Demo called "It can be done" and it was pretty nice, but i coded most of these effects on the amiga or c64 and i think it wasnt a real tech demo.

this may sound strange too you, but if purebasic is only half that good as i (and many of you) think, then we could slap something real cool together (maybe some nice 3d stuff aswell/open gl).

We should talk about his and see how much people are interested to help... meanwhile i will code some nice demo effects (plasma for example)

i cant help with 3d though... so i think we need either Danilo or Traumatic for this job (jump in guys).

and please dont forget one thing... i only want the community to grow... bcos its far tooooooo small for such a product... it deserves more!

I dont know anything related to 3D programming,
so i cant help with that.
Traumatic and Fred are more into 3D, like BalrogSoft
and VPureBasic.

Traumatic wrote a small OpenGL test for the public:
viewtopic.php?t=1568
but he wrote also some more hardcore OpenGL demos (not so public)
Traumatic ... still here ?? :)

I think it would also be nice to see some more small
games (clones, like a Boulderdash) written in PureBasic,
not only HighTech-Demos.
For some app-coders its a real problem to make (good)
own graphics and sound, thats a big problem.

I like any idea which could move Purebasic to the front.
