I want to applaud Fred, for keeping PB going and growing feature-wise. PB is still here and is still one of the best programming languages around.
Since PB has existed, Mark Sibly has created (and
killed) six programming languages and is now talking about starting a seventh. Meanwhile, Fred has shown that a
competent developer can keep his language going
and growing, even through the market changes, and even create a companion language to handle emerging platforms. PB is unrivaled in the industry, IMHO.
There are a lot of niche languages and products that may excel at those specific niches, but for a one size fits all solution, PB is it. I have said it before, PB is the only legitimate BASIC left standing.
