Im sort of disappointed. I am hoping to start a medium-sized 3D project with PB but theres a few problems holding me back. First of all, terrain, which is great and I already have created height/texture maps specifically for it, CAN'T BE DELETED, which makes level/area-specific terrain impossible? Also, since only .mesh files are supported, I cannot use any models in PB since I have no .mesh convertor and cannot find one.
Well actually I guess those are the two big problems. The rest I have figured out.
But besides these two problems, I gotta say PB's 3D is pretty nice, with built in particles, curved skydomes, suave-lights, and a smooth framerate.
So I guess the point of this point is to ask (a) is there a way to delete or at least change terrain and (b) does anyone have a .mesh convertor?
PB's 3D...

go to purearea.net and browse the games area. there you will find a game called "ufo onslaught! 3d", which i coded
of course the source is available on purearea.net, too.
you will find some links within the main.pb file, that point you to various tutorials about 3d graphics and PB.
also have a look at the german forum, where there are several threads on how to create meshes for PB.

The 3D side of things is still in its infancy but more attention to it is planned!
See this thread for Fred's post.
