Adobe Flash Player Updates

Post by VB6_to_PBx »

Latest :
Adobe Flash Player Update version 21.0.0213
‎Symantec Time Stamping Services Signer - G4 : Tuesday, ‎April ‎05, ‎2016 12:35:20 AM

Anyone else getting tired of all these Adobe Flash Player Updates ???

its seems every other Month , Adobe has another Flash Player Update
are the Adobe Programmers that stupid they can't create a stable and hack-proof Flash Player ?
or is the real reason Adobe gets a $$$$ Kickback from all the McAfee Anti-Virus "software bundling"

everytime theres another Update , McAfee gets another "chance" to install its Anti-Virus Software on another Computer .
Multiply that chance by millions and millions of Computers across the world ... thats a lot of Kickback money involved

Adobe Flash Player Update version 21.0.0213
the last 3 version numbers = 213
is probably close to the real number of these Flash Player versions over the many years of its existence

i heard Steve Jobs ( Apple ) thought Adobe would never solve all their programming problems with their Flash Player ??

I was thinking the same, considering how many versions are continually found exploitable and requiring fixing :-)

But I didn't think of that, really naive of me :|

It's not just Adobe, most big software companies seem to be going to the continuous update model.

Canonical, Mozilla, and Microsoft come to mind.

IMHO continuous updating is a sucky methodology that has become useful due to poor quality software being released before it is fully ready.

That declaration and recommendation seems a bit premature.
Isn't YouTube using Flash?
Or was that subtle humor?

BTW, here's a handy site to get those updates.

If you have installed Flash, YouTube probably uses Flash.
I don't have Flash, so it uses HTML5. No problem.

Nope.

Ask yourself why you continue to use it, even if you think it has security problems, bugs,
and annoying update intervals. Just uninstall it and live without it... it's possible to continue life without Adobe Flash! :D

Just don't use it, if it annoys you! Be more consequent - you are not a Slave!

I have no problems without Flash. It's very rare nowadays that I see an embedded box
on websites with "plugin missing". I am able to ignore the few cases - it's most likely advertisements anyway. ;)
The debate about Flash is few years old already. It just isn't required anymore today.

All is nice and good, but if I visit a site which is offering something I need and it's using flash, I better to have flash installed and working.
Same thing with another site offering something I need and using Silverlight.
They are migrating to HTML5, but in the meantime I don't dream about removing Silverlight which I'm using for just one site on the whole internet.
