Everything else that doesn't fall into one of the other PB categories.

Can someone inform me of how to delete my PureBasic forum account?
I'm afraid PB just doesn't fit my needs and it is time to move on to a different product.

Thanks in advance.

Write a private message (pm) to Fred, the owner of the board. That's all, and good luck on your way!

You haven't given it a good enough try. What, half a year? You'll be back. They always come back. ;)

Absolutely correct Alexi :)

If you're really concerned... simply edit your profile to 'minimize'
any personal data.

I apologize if I upset anyone but I've spent the last couple of months transitioning to Embarcadero's Delphi and porting my old Visual Basic code to Pascal. It suits my needs perfectly, is a true RAD system, and was quite easy to grasp. I have extensive experience in C (25 years), C++ (20 years), Visual Basic 6/NET (18 years), and I am now getting a good grasp of object Pascal. For some reason, as great a program as I am sure PureBasic is, it just doesn't seem intuitive or fluid to me and I can't grasp it. C & C++ seem intuitive to me and were quite easy to learn, but PureBasic just does not. So I am sure it's just an issue with my brain and not with PureBasic.

Thanks,
GypsyPrince

Thanks for the explanations.
I'd probably feel the same way if I had 20 years of experience actually using C++.

IMO since you already own PB, keep the account just in case sometime in the future you decide to use PB for something small, and need to ask a quick question or two, you are already set.
Keep it BASIC.

PB is more like C than any other basic I have seen--there really are very few differences. If you have done VB with success, and are well experienced with C, what is the part that you don't get? If you understand those two languages, I cannot fathom anything other than time (of actually using it) that could be a roadblock. (Afterall, you have only asked for help on a couple different days, with two topics.) Perhaps you have just tried to force it into the mold of one of your other languages, and that is why it is not intuitive.

I'm not saying it's the best, but heck, with your experience, I wouldn't waste time on anything other than C or C++...
