One of my friends who builds detailed models of traditional Australian paddle steamers wants to buy a 3D printer so he can make some of the small features like head lights, steering wheel, paddle wheels etc. Of course he will want me to work out how to and run this for him. How time consuming would this be and how easy is it to create/draw the 3D images in a format to be printed
Hi electrochrisso,
if you like 3D work, BLENDER is free and very very good.
they have a direct 3D printer interface.
and installing the 3D printer and software is very easy,
about 2 days to build the 3D printer (KIT), testing and installing about 1 day.
The most time consuming is make the model in BLENDER.
Hi Num3,
it takes 1h 25min to print it in 0.1 mm mode and ABS,
in PLA it works a bit faster.
