Developing In PureBasic
Re: Developing In PureBasic
BTW, thanks for sharing your PurePrint. I have saved it for future reference, in case I ever need it.
Re: Developing In PureBasic
I would support PB including user-written modules. Why not?collectordave wrote:If routines are coded that are cross platform compatible could these not be included in the PureBasic download? These could be in an Includes folder and any user could then use and/or modify them. This would allow PureBasic users to write components for PB, my examples above not quite finished yet. This would take some weight offf the language developers and allow them to concentrate on making all PB commands cross platform.
So my questions are. Is it worth going down this route? Is anyone else interested in developing in this way?
It would also be nice to have a database that we could access through the IDE, with source code files that we could browse through, add to, and read in real time. On the other hand, there are so many other things I'd rather Fred and Timo work on, that I hope they do not make this a high priority. The forum works fine.

To be honest, for me, at this time, it is just a chat room. I don't have time to code right now, and probably won't for at least another six months, so I come on here while taking my five-minute break, to still feel connected to it. But don't throw the whole forum out because of people like me. There are a handful of incredibly talented coders here who are very generous with their help, and make great contributions.collectordave wrote:But I have also decided to leave the forum as i find it to be more of a chat room than a language forum.
OTOH, considering your initiating post to this thread, it says you were looking for discussion, and not programming, in this thread anyway.
So my questions are. Is it worth going down this route? Is anyone else interested in developing in this way?

You know that you are posting in the 'General Discussion' forum, right?collectordave wrote:But I have also decided to leave the forum as i find it to be more of a chat room than a language forum.
