DocMaker on Linux ?

Hello,

I always wondered how the pbdocmaker might work on Linux but not found out yet even how it could be started.

Checking the help, the PB installation and about 40 threads tonight and some trials via commandline - I'm still stuck.

I assume I need to know some commands for the pbdocmaker, maybe target a folder or specific file. And aside from that that I might need to have something similar like the Help Workshop on WIN.

Anybody knowing how to create pb-help-files on Linux please share you knowledge.

You should be able to just double-click it. Its a GUI application just like on Windows. You don't need any extra tools to build the PB help format for Linux. Just select "PB Linux Help" in the output format dropdown.

You can also create the HTML help on all OS and test it in a browser. Its the same as the CHM help, just not in a single file.

I don't know what to say, - - but I can asure you I did try to start pbdocmaker by doubleclicking the file itself (in various distributions) and because no gui appeared I moved on to try it via console...

Now following your reply I retested it and today the gui opens - looks like the one on WIN. I have no idea why it didn't before.

With a few files that I had captured from the SVN the other day I was successfull to create a first purebasic.help file that the IDE would open and the little contents was available. ~ That is just great

The option to create the whole as singled html-files is nice to have [likely what's used on MAC OSX, as far as I know] and will be tested later too.

When I've build up the whole needed environment for a complete and proper linux-help I'll drop back in and leave some links and infos about the settings ... or what comes across my way. ... making this thread worth finding for others.
