I've been thinking for a long time about taking up a few courses to gain formal qualifications in computing. At the minute im self taught and program just as a hobby and have been doing so for about 4.5years but just wondered about maybe changing careers to a programming job. I just wondered what you guys think about this, do formal qualifications open doors or do you just have to be good? I suppose a degree in computer science doesn't hurt

What qualifications do you guys have?

'formal qualification'... Well, i guess you would have to use C++, C# (and .net
) Delphi or sometimes like that. I don't really think that you could use PB there. Even tough it is a VERY good language.... However, i don't think you should have to complete such a formal qualification. Ask professional coders, i guess they didn't, too. It least it is not necessary to proof your skills
