I have just downloaded the demo version of PB and am trying to run a very simple program from Kale's PB intro book:
Code: Select all
OpenConsole()
Print("Press enter")
Input()
End
The output window states:
If I tryWaiting for executable to start...
Executable Type: MacOSX - x64 (64bit, Unicode)
Executable started
the program execution has finished
Code: Select all
Debug "Hello"My Setup:
MBP 2011 with 8GB RAM
OS X 10.8.5
XCode 5.0.2 (5A3005) with command line tools installed
PureBasic 5.21 LTS (MacOS X - x64)
IDE build on 11/20/2013 [11:05] by fred
Branch: v5.20 Revision: 1580
Note (may be relevant, may not be):
I use 2 accounts on this Mac: 1 admin and 1 standard user. I do all installations/updates via the admin account and all work on the standard account. I installed PB via the Admin account into Applications. When I then logged into my standard account, the PB folder had a no entry sign on it so I added my user to the folder with read/write to the folder and all subfolders (ie granted myself full access) in order to be able to open the app
Could somebody help me out? PureBasic looks great and I'm a little fed up with the current Xojo pricing scheme/policy. I'd be very interested in getting a PB license if I can get over these initial hurdles and if further tests prove promising
One other question: I have 2 Macs, 2 Windows PCs and a Linux PC. Am I correct in thinking that 1 license will grant me the right to install PB on each machine, as long as they are just for my own use?
Many thanks for any help that may be forthcoming!
