interesting illusion

Post by netmaestro »

I came across this in with some animated gifs I was testing, but when I went to copy it to my window it wouldn't play. As I'd been trying to find a gif that wouldn't play I investigated further, discovering that this isn't a gif at all but a jpg that doesn't move. Yet if you look at it with your eyes about 18 inches from the screen you'd swear the circles are moving. Get back from the screen four or five feet and they look still.

Simple braineffect. Your eyes are moving very fast to detect all in your field of Vision. The velocity of Little sightpieces is different from your eye to your brain. Your brain mix it up and thinks the circles is moving... So it must move.

If you think that looks good, then let this blow your mind:

And my favorite: while looking at the dot in the middle,
move your head alternately closer to, and then away from,
the image. It looks like the circles are moving.

this is also interesting illusion regarding color
we think the one eye are blue and the other are grey, but use the paint color picker to see that the two eyes have a grey color, or copy the round part of the grey eye and drop it in the redish area . it will appear as blue

That T-Rex video is the best one I've seen.
It's such a great illusion, too. So hard (and
maybe impossible) to track the real image.
