PB 5.2 LTS: OpenSuse 12.3: IDE freezes
Re: PB 5.2 LTS: OpenSuse 12.3: IDE freezes
It sounds like an opensuse issue, what do you think ?
Re: PB 5.2 LTS: OpenSuse 12.3: IDE freezes
Not OpenSuse but KDE 4. I am using Kubuntu.
But partly the issue has to be an PB issue too. I tested several other gtk applications and every one of then worked properly under the oxygen-gtk setting.
I myself cannot classify the issue. A few hours ago it was a showstopper, made it impossible to use PB. Knowing the workaround its no big problem.
@pbfan57: If my workaround solves your problem too, please update us.

Re: PB 5.2 LTS: OpenSuse 12.3: IDE freezes
As I mentioned in an earlier reply, I use opensuse 12.3 x64 as well and I don't have any problems.
I also use KDE 4 as window manager. So this doesn't cause the trouble either.
And since I do also use PureBasic 5.20 LTS.... I have no clue what the problem might be, unless there is something wrong with the configuration of PB or may be an old configuration file somewhere under root? Or for instance setting some sort of subsystem, which may cause it, e.g. GTK3???
Or may be GTK2 is not properly installed?
Sorry, I couldn't provide more help.
Hope you solve it soon.

Re: PB 5.2 LTS: OpenSuse 12.3: IDE freezes
It works!
Thank you "user", you were absolutely right. I changed gtk2 to "Raleigh" and now PB runs as user and not only as root.
I just want to remind, that I had to reinstall OpenSuse 12.3 out of the box after I messed my computer and had to reinstall Windows-XP and then OpenSuse. Obviously OpenSuse configures KDE to use gtk-oxygen. Though I don´ t know the difference between "oxygen" and "Raleigh" I am glad, that PB now runs as I was used to during several years of usage!
Now I´m back to normal work, and once again thanks to all of you who helped!

Great
Another tipp: Install qtcurve and select it, now you can use PB without having to look at Win98 style buttons.
