People not impressed by GTA V thread

Post by luis »

I would never spend one hour on that silly thing. Ok, I consider it crap.
Just to point out this seemingly (up to now) widespread devotion for this title is not universal, even inside the PB users base.

There, I'm done.

EDIT:
To put it in context, this splitted thread was originally in reply and and attached to this: -> http://www.purebasic.fr/english/viewtop ... 57#p425757

I know, there are many other unrelated GTA V posts there, don't ask me why this is here. :o
The only difference I can see is this was the first non adoring post :)

I'm with luis. A few years back I was into GTA3 and Vice City,
and only because they were interesting and new; but now I'm
well and truly over the whole violence-as-a-pastime concept.
I compile using 5.31 (x86) on Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit).

There are always many opinions about one topic. Especially if the
topic is as "dirty" as it is with GTA. But if you look a little
bit closer into that, GTA represents much more as stupid violence.
And that is where my fun begins. 8)

I never been a big fan of the GTA series. I've just never been able play one without getting bored in a hour.
Now give me a Zelda or Monster hunter game and you won't see me for days.

Most expensive game ever made, and one of the most demanded games in the world. It made over $800 million the first day it hit shelves. What do people think of it that played it? That's a different story, but to be butt hurt over a game you've never played is just ludicrous. If the style isn't for you then that's understandable, doesn't make the game bad (sales margins prove otherwise).

Been playing video games since the 80s.. shortest story I've every played.

You finish the story and stranger missions and there is nothing to do really even if you work your imagination..

Thing is I know from experience us complainers are such a minority that none of our valid and logical criticisms have an affect on anything..

You shoudn't have played game since a while then, because 25 hours of main story line isn't short regarding today standards. It's even considered as huge, as there is a lot of written cinematic cutscenes. Anyway, everyone has it's favorite game, and what I can say is GTA V is awesome, I didn't had this much fun in a game since quite some time ;).

As long as the movie Idiocracy continues to come true, games like GTA V will continue to be hugely popular.
Best wishes to the PB community. Thank you for the memories. ♥️

I played about 7 hours a day for 3 days after coming home from work and finished all story and stranger missions for all 3 characters. It takes about a week to do other GTA titles like that..

If you look at the design it looks like they cut off development early. All those characters and details for robberies but only around 3 robbery missions. I think there are actually about 35 missions in total for all 3 characters for the entire game..

When you finish all that there is golf, tennis, and some repetitive business missions where you just drive. There is also racing missions.

I kinda wish I just rented it from redbox..
