Trying to talk a potential client out of Raspberry PI, as I don't have the time to learn another platform.
Will the Linux version of PureBasic run on Gizmo?
Has anyone done anything with the Gizmo Board?

Well, it's an x86 cpu, so yeah, no reason for purebasic not to work... But it's nowhere near a raspi: it's big, HOT, expensive, need extra hardware to get to the I/O and energy consuming...

Can anybody recommend an alternative to Gizmo that is x86 in architecture? I just can't rationalize taking the time to learn Raspberry.

I believe this was a joke. A SMALL Computer for 50€? In my opinion not too expensive. What´s hot? 50°C, 70°C or 100°C?Poshu wrote:Well, it's an x86 cpu, so yeah, no reason for purebasic not to work... There is another alternative that I have just looked into. Off-lease computers are very cheap. For instance, this one here:

Note: This is not an endorsement, nor is this representative of the opinions of the personnel from PureBasic. It's just an example of an alternative to what a client of mine asked for.
