label image on a cylinder

Post by Tenaja »

I want to create an image of a label (label = image) on a bottle (a cylinder). At first I started thinking about the geometrical calculation of creating a new image, then I saw the tank.pb demo, and realized pb's 3d might do it. A simple test showed my artwork could replace the rusty metal jpg, so I thought this would be easy. ... But it is turning out possibly more difficult than using geometry...

At the label "seam" (where the two ends of the image come together), the 3d engine wants to "blend" the image ends. I do not want this; I want a crisp, clean junction. I could not find a setting for this. My artwork even has some blank pixels at the ends, but that did not help. I even enlarged the canvas (to nearly double) and that did not do it (although it did reduce the smearing).

Are there any other settings for making the texture seam sharp?

Thanks.
