What are you working on?

Post by eesau »

It's been ages since the last "What are you working on?" -thread, so here goes!

Me, I'm working on a GUI library with an OpenGL 3.3 renderer. Cegui was a mess and I couldn't find a simple enough GUI library with C bindings that would work with PB so I decided to make one from scratch and it's coming along, although way too slowly. (If anyone has any good GUI library suggestions that work pretty much out-of-the-box in PB, do feel free suggest one.)

So, what new and exciting things are you currently working on with PB?

Just finished up a small program that allows you to pause/unpause Mac OS/X applications.

Available for free at my website under my Blog :D

I'm still working on the tools for my TextRPG that I started years ago when I first showed up here...

I don't know whether you would call that dedicated or lazy :)

It's slow going.. I can't just "switch on" the "I feel like programming" mode like I used to.

Hi,

Still working on my CAD/CAM/CNC software.
When I tested it on WIN8 it was a so big disappointment of the GUI result.
So, I started my own GUI in "Canvas Mode" and "Screen Mode".
A big work but so my software GUI is in all windows the same.

Hi :)

I'm working as a senior IT consultant for a head hunting company in Vietnam since 3 month

They asked me to create a Online Database, I choose PostgreSQL

Now I have to use their own database from Excel:
Each of these files contains candidate information with a link to their cv in doc, docx, rtf or pdf (in a sub-directory)
So I take the candidate information, read the CV and, after cleaning it, I generate the keywords and put the original CV and the candidate information in the database.

So every day testing and updating the code

Thats very interessting as i am working with all the 3 every day. Why you are developing your own solution? Some nice features other software does not offer?
Is your CAD/CAM/CNC software only for your personal use or will you share or sell it?

I am interessted because it could be usefull for me.

Currently we use SolidWorks with SolidCAM and mainly generate code for Sinumerik controls.

Hi Thorium,

The main goal, I am building a 'wood skelet home' machine (sorry for the english conversion).
And I spend a lot of money baying CAD/CAM/CNC software.
And I went to follow some courses for all these stuff.
I started with AUTOCAD, INVENTOR ...
But no much software can handle wood calculations.
So I had the (stupid) idea to write/develop my own software (some years ago).
Still programming... testing... programming... testing... debugging...
And I wanted to have one software for all.
and not 3 separated softwares.

The last step is the new GUI for all platforms (great stuff) ??

Debugging a software of over the 2.000.000 lines

And Yes, I hope to sell it one day ??

We have a similar problem. We do stone cutting and grinding. There is no software that can handle this well. There is software for sculpturing in stone but thats not what we do. We produce highly precise machine beds out of stone. From the process it's similar to metal machining but not quite the same. We needed to develop our own custom post-processors and still SolidCAM is not perfect for us.
