I have a friend that is blind, and would like to take movies, youtube things, etc and listen to it on his commute in to work.
I can't find a clear answer -- do any of the mp3 players support playing the audio portion of a video file? Or would we need to strip out the audio and load an audio-only version on to an mp3 player?
Thanks

MP3 player to play video files?
Re: MP3 player to play video files?
There are several players with a screen of 2,5" or less that can play both audio and video files.
I don't know how easy they are to work with for someone not being able to see.
Smartphones can also play both. If you google for 'best smartphone for blind' you will get some pointers.
As far as I can see from the search results, Apple iPhone 5 or Motorola Photon Q might be good.
If you don't mind extracting audio, that might be the easiest way to playback since you can get a mp3 player without a screen where you only have to use buttons.
