Then i have just come across this from dec 2012 in the Washington Post.

North Korea EMP attack could destroy U.S. — now

If USA responds to any possible nuclear attack inside its territory, then USA is dead forever!

Sensationalist over-hyping.

Replace "North Korea" with "Soviet Union" and pretend you're living a few decades earlier.

I don't believe everything that the media is presenting (obviously),
but nonetheless the situation is quite concerning for me (loved ones nearby).

Just hope that little guy is getting his brains back and saves his own
country from being destroyed because of his own pride and delusions.

Sounds like the next country the USA will invade to is North Korea?

Do you guys think they already prepare for the termination of North Korea, or is it just media recommending it?

Also wondering what China would say if USA invades North Korea...? Doesn't sound good altogether.

Last times they always told us reasons such as:
- Country XYZ may have dangerous weaponry, USA has to stop that
- There is a dictator, people have no freedom
- There are terrorists hiding in country XYZ

So according to US there would be reasons to go to NK, Iran, and maybe some other countries.

Maybe they are really scared this time? Don't want problems with China? Too dangerous weaponry involved? No oil there? ;)

Seriously, what do you want to do now? Build an anti-missile system around NK or maybe into space to fire off possibly dangerous
rockets coming from NK? So it would explode over Asia instead?

Really scary!

The US is not going to just march into North Korea.

The fact we already let them progress as far as they have towards nuclear weapons, and manipulate us in negotiation after negotiation is proof of that. Even if it wasn't our intention the fact we let these things happen on the watch of 3 (now) separate Administrations has seriously ham-strung us and put us into a very narrow path of possible actions.

China would more than likely not sit idly by, and even if we were to unilaterally invade, and we would pay a heavy price that the country is not prepared to in the lives of our soldiers. North Korea may be a run-down backwards country, wrecked to ruin by its insane rulers, but that doesn't change the fact it has a large standing army and one of the most formidable air defense networks in the world.

This is not Iraq.

I would be surprised if we ever took more action than instituting a no-fly zone, or committing limited surgical airstrikes with drones or bombers. The country is not a threat in the normal sense. It is only a threat in that we don't know anything about its current leadership and how desperately they would act in a bad situation.

Furthermore a couple successful rocket tests and a space-launch doesn't guarantee you success of anything. You still need to build a stable, reliable weapons platform that you know will not fail and stands a high chance of not being intercepted by anti-missle defense systems such as Aegis or other ground and air-base laser systems. You also need to have the technology to put your ordinance on to that missle and that is no small feat.

While launching something into space is no small matter, I would be hard pressed to think their total capabilities little more than slightly ahead of the Germans V2. Can they even hit a target if they make it there?

America is millions of square miles with switched&partitioned power grids, <10 devices with a destructive radius of <20 miles are going to destroy it; this is the best nuclear(Russian), not EMP which is way less, and better warheads than China or N Korea has...

Of course Americas best can't find a guy planted bombs literally in front of hundreds of cameras, so who knows, maybe they will nuke themselves and destroy part of their continent..

Seriously dude? It's only been a matter of hours.

Sometimes it takes 10+ years, some billion dollars, and some thousand peoples killed to find & eliminate 1 terrorist boss.

I think the Boston bombing is quite shocking. You go out with your family and friends to watch
the marathon, and some people don't come back, others are wounded and many are psychologically
scared to go to any public event in the future. It's really sad and makes me think.
It could be such a nice world, if all people would live together in peace and harmony on our mother earth.
I was a soldier 14 years ago, when I was 22 years young. Served my country attending a 'humanitarian mission'
in KOSOVO 1999. The KOSOVO war 1999.
I made my own experience, and I don't want to miss it. Going to war yourself, all the training at the army,
and writing your own testament before you leave for some month, makes you really start thinking.

No need for any war computer games after this real experiences. Just funny to me when I hear colleagues
talking about new PC war games and how they killed each other in an internet gaming session.

14 years later I think the world is just crazy. Throw all the guns away, remove all borders and make it
ONE world again... without any countries. One peaceful world for all people, same chances, peace and freedom
for everyone. I imagine the world was like this 20,000 and 50,000 years ago. Total freedom, no countries, no money
and you could go just anywhere. From Africa to Australia or to America... just wandering around, being totally free,
with freedom and peace in mind. What a crazy dream!

It simply doesn't work like that, which is why the world is the way it is today. It never worked in the past, either. Even tribal communities without money and such were always at war with each other (watch "Apocalypto"). Nice dream, yes; but will never happen. It's just human nature.
Microsoft Visual Basic only lasted 7 short years: 1991 to 1998.

There is no human nature in respect for human behavior.
Does not exist such a thing.

The trouble with Danilo`s idea "Human Beings" period.

@MachineCode the world is no different now its exactly as in the film Apocalypto, the world still run by those disgusting cronies on top of the temple same ideas same scenario. That`s my analogy of the world too. :( all too true. "And the greatest weapon they have computers and programming"
