Music archives destroyed

Post by einander »

Vivendi Universal sent out the announcement that the url MP3.com had been sold and the new owner was not taking possession of the music.

On December 3rd, one of the largest collection of original music archives ever assembled will be destroyed.

It does make sense though, if it wanted possesion of the songs it would also have to buy them, and MP3.com doesn't own them. It's unfortunate, but whats more unfortunate is that if the new company would take the MP3's you would see some owners of the music try to sue, saying they want to get paid because their music is a part of the sellout/buyout. Just too bad the world world wasn't made of decent people :?
