So? What's not working here? You've got to select something to get the prop grid showing properties.
And you've got to draw a gadget in the main window, obviously.

DoctorLove,
The window that you are editing is in the main area of the ide, if you don't see it, you can click Form -> Swtch code / Design view.

Seems, that a superior view helps to understand the behaviour of the designer.

Obviously you also will see a logic in the results when doing the following...

1) start PB 5.1, you will see an empty source
2) press Alt+O which should show the Form menu (so ignore this and close the session window)
3) ok, another try, use the mouse to select "New Form"
4) now, you can see the window which is seen in the first posting
5) click on the <New> tab of the empty source
6) click on the <New> tab of the empty form, the form window has gone
7) press Alt+v, the form window appears, but doesn't look like it did before (point 4)

I'm a bit fed up being insulted for working for free.

Looks like you docked the window -- try moving the window and then resizing it.

Polo, Don't take the insults to heart... what these people forget is the product is still beta. You will always have people who are unhappy, and they will always be the most vocal about it too.

Personally, I haven't had major issues with the form designer. nothing that would make me scream and shout about it anyway. although, to be honest... I haven't really got around to testing it properly yet.

And to those of you being insultive... please stop. Constructive criticism is a lot better than "5.10 b1 Form designer USELESS". explaining your problem is a lot more useful to the PB team rather than acting like spoilt children.

I work everyday for free, so what!? Even in the free world you need have some barebone against critics.

Anyway, got it working... the problem is, when you create a new form, in the IDE it says "new".
in my understanding, its the new source code page im opening!

A tip! remane it to "new form" !

And polo, you did a great job on this.

Wow! The Form Designer integration brings the PureBasic IDE to a whole new level. With direct code generation, the Form Designer will soon become an indispensable tool.

Great job Polo. Our sincere thanks to you and the team. The Mayans were wrong; 21st December is marking a new start for PureBasic.

Thanks for the comments guys! :)

The problem on the first post (empty grid on the Form float window) is now fixed.
It's much better to add the Form Tool to the left or right toolbox, in the IDE preferences (Preferences / Tools Panel / Form Panel)

Very useful to know, I like that much better as now it looks properly integrated :)

Just a heads up, if you try to add the Form Tool after having used the floating one in the current session, it will crash the IDE.
