Just starting out... more than usual dumb questions

I would like to say that I realise my initial tone - when I first started posting here - was fractious and unfriendly... this was pointed out to me by several members of the forum early on. I do apologise for those early outbursts. My efforts will be concentrated on learning this excellent program in as humble and cooperative a manner as possible, and as I have said before, I am indeed grateful for any and all suggestions and pointers you all give me.
I realise that - given those initial posts - that there might be a chance my intent could be misinterpreted... such as my last comment about alerting Mr Willoughby.
In the light of this I will endeavour to limit my posts to pure questions and keep my reflections to myself.

This forum is exceptional because you get near instantaneous reply's from some very
cagy and experienced people.

Remember they have a life and other things to do. So when do offer
advice... try to absorb it, learn from it, thank them... then help others when it's your turn.

PS - Gary Willoughby wrote this book in 2006. PureBasic has evolved and many small
things have changed. Look in the PureBasic "history" section of the help file for details
on changes.

You have forgot to put the () at the end of the Select EventGadget, PB thinks it is a variable.
It should be Select EventGadget().

Wow. Sat morning, family is asleep, I can concentrate on this and have finally had the opportunity to revisit this. Thank you, ElectroChrisso... everything is working perfectly.
