Well, the cars try to avoid them anyway. So not that much luck... ;-)

They could build all the tunnels they want, but somehow I don't see these retarded animals using them...

Actually, tunnels (and overhead ropes) work extremely well in Australia for possums and other animals on highways:

Animals aren't as retarded as you'd think.

and humans (we were spotted using the tunnels, too) were most frequently found in areas with maintained lawns. And much like us, an unobstructed view is an important factor in an animal’s use of the tunnel.
Ah.... childhood flashback LOL.

I grew up in Prince George's County, Maryland.

We had some really huge fucking tunnels, like this one section near an automatic car wash facility, was a junction for several smaller (but still big) diameter pipes which met and then emptied into a huge tunnel you could probably drive a truck (pickup) through, and that ran under the 2 sets of Marc / Amtrak rails that ran behind the area. Was a popular hangout / way station for young kids and teens moving through the area.

We tried to ditch the cops using them one time, but they heard us running through them and were waiting on the opposite side (we had just come from) when we popped up on the other side of the tracks.
