Mnemonic character on OSX

As I am working on a cross platform library, I wonder, what is the mnemonic character (underscore character for label and button hotkeys) on Mac OSX? For Windows it is '&', for Linux '_'. Might be a silly question, but I haven't done programming on a Mac yet, but I plan to as I got an older one with Tiger 10.4.11 on the shelf.
