I apologize to the original poster for "highjacking" the thread to explain how to enable the feature in Scite. I have known it was there for quite some time, but never used the editor long enough to know how to activate it--it is not a menu setting, but a file edit. Now I know which file.
And back to the original post, you must uncomment those lines in the correct file preference file (as I mentioned)...the name of which was not mentioned in the original post.
