No thanks, I have played with flight sims before and find them rather boring. But I know that other people do like them, so I created this thread to pass it along to people who might appreciate it.

Obviously I still play because I like the game, and I buy TP because I think some of the perks I like to get are worth it.. But that doesn't change the fact it is a manipulatively expensive process for the customer.
Like it or not, free to play works, they got you didn't they? But I do agree with you that free to play and pay to play are rather expensive by the time you add it all up, that's why I won't even consider playing either type of game. In fact I go a step further in that I don't play any online games at all. I just play the single player part of a game and when I'm done with that, I'm done with the game.

From the videos Microsoft Flight doesnt look very impressive. Unfortunatly the big times of flight simulators are long over. I guess this open source project is good or just take a look on the older Microsoft Flight Simulators. Its actualy one of the oldest computer game series there is, it started 1980 with A2FS of which i happen to have a original copy. ^^

Thanks GWarner for the link. Is Microsoft Flight Simulator freeware now?

No, it is not freeware. It is free-to-play.

Yes and no.

Yes you can get the basic simulator and play with it all you want for free, but if you want extra cities, airports, planes to fliy, etc. you have to buy them as add-ons or DLC.

It is only no. It is not freeware. It is free-to-play. There is a huge difference between the two. One is 100% free and one isn't.
