Thanks Chris, been a bit slack on programming lately, busy with my other love of creating music for a while, but will get back into creating a new program soon, with extensive use of ProGUI.

Hehe no worries Chris, I love me music too (just been playing guitar ... badly lol I think I may be like Lister off of Red Dwarf haha). Some of my old recordings are on Newgrounds if you fancy hearing some of my stuff? http://princied.newgrounds.com/audio/electrochrisso wrote:Thanks Chris, been a bit slack on programming lately, busy with my other love of creating music for a while, but will get back into creating a new program soon, with extensive use of ProGUI.
I've also been making a little notepad replacement using ProGUI with multi-language spell-check and Google Chrome style quick search, here's a screeny!

Cheers!
Chris.

Hey that looks cool Chris, wouldn't mind checking it out and even better the source code, if possible, when you are done on that one.I've also been making a little notepad replacement using ProGUI with multi-language spell-check and Google Chrome style quick search, here's a screeny!

I am going to check out your music, but I will have to get up early, so I can get better than the piss weak 7kb/s (even slower and stops) download speed during the day, I get from the multi billion dollar company, shit Telstra hookup, through my mobile phone I have at the moment. Some of my old recordings are on Newgrounds if you fancy hearing some of my stuff?

So much for mobile technology.

Tesla & cell phones. [Warning: Thread hijack]
Tesla (somehow) got a bad reputation -- but the guy was a frickin' genious WAY ahead of his time... indeed, ideas like the pad you set your cell phone on an it can charge w/o an actual plug -- tesla.electrochrisso wrote:... shit Telstra hookup, through my mobile phone I have at the moment.![]()

When someone uses his name like that; it's sad. He invented "wireless electricity" -- AND PROVED IT; but it was DC -- Edison was more "popular" and his "AC" won out. (Historians may factually correct me, my feelings won't be hurt; but that's the gist of it...)
For cell phones -- at our house (remote, island) my cell phone works fine (we have 2 cell towers on the island) -- my wifes (same company) has to drive about 1/2 mile to a mile to get a solid signal she can carry on a call...
We installed a (wilson cellular brand, great service!) cell phone amplifier -- antenna on the roof, amp in the computer room, and antenna in the living room.
She gets a solid 3 bars now -- my phone, when powered on, used to take about 90 seconds to "fully connect" to the point I could make a call. (I would get 3 or 4 bars, but had to wait to make a call)
With the amplifer -- I can make a call in under 30 seconds after power on now.
both our cell phones are lasting longer too (not spending a lot of energy hunting for a signal)
So if you have weak cell service, that is an option I can vouch for -- however, your milage my vary.... (Note: they ain't cheap, but they're worth it if you don't have another option -- we bought ours for about 400 off amazon -- we didn't get the lower cost one, we got one big enough to work in an office, "just to make sure".)

Hi jassing,
Telsa and Telstra I am not sure if there is a connection with the names there, I have plenty of signal, the problem is I use the Next G network, which has good rural coverage and I live near a small town with a tower that is heavily overloaded with too many customers and Telstra the provider is too stingy to add extra hardware to provide much better bandwidth so we all must suffer this problem, I think it might be something to do with the politics of the 45 billion plus NBN (national broadband network) currently being rolled out, because Telstra has to give up its monopolistic reigns on the wireless network, so us users will have to suffer because of it until it is all sorted out, but that could take years though, and be very expensive to use.
I am thinking of moving over to Optus, which works much better, a guy I had here for a few days had it working at my place with 350kbs signal, with no external ant, so I am thinking this might be the way to go.

No worries mate, I will still check it out and buy from you if I like. Thanks matealthough I may release it as license-ware (free to trial for a month and cost $10, something like that) so no source I'm afraid lol

Like I say, I have got up early 5.30am, while everyone else is still punching z's, and can download your music at 45-50kbs, when I first got connected three years ago I could get 160kbs solid all the time, and has been slowly dwindling, grinding to a snails pace now during peak hours, Telstra loves to push its products, and as more people get connected, they do not want to spend the money to upgrade the hardware to match the demand.Aghh that sucks man, slightly better that 56k dial up lol

hehe I'd love to! but alas, it's difficult finding decent musicians in my area and having the time for band practice too. Maybe in the future!Sveinung wrote:Thnaks a lot and maybe it's time to start a new band???![]()
