That is indeed one of the reasons.

Adam did a good job on it.
dman wrote:Monkey allows for Flash and HTML5 development whereas GLBasic sadly does not.
Unfortunately, Flash is not as popular as it once was and the industry seems to be slowly moving away from it. Not a bad thing, IMHO. HTML5 is a mixed bag. The potential for Metro Apps is awesome. For browser-based games/software, we have the problem where HTML5 means something slightly different to each browser. Once the format becomes standardized, this should not be an issue. Unfortunately, it is still in working draft stage and it may be several years before W3C has the specs in a final recommendation. Again, not a bad thing, IMHO.
Best wishes to the PB community. Thank you for the memories. ♥️

Fair comments, but I would stay away from AGK, I come from a DB PRO background myself and moved to Blitz long ago, well worth the move IMO.

The problem with AGK is that TGC will be charging for major updates (plugin upon plugin: DB PRO anyone?), whereas Monkey is one price for all updates.

I will definately be sticking with Monkey :)

I had DB, but skipped DBPro. Played with DBPro after it was made free, but wasn't impressed. AGK interests me only because I would like to see what DBS/TGC have pulled off. Kind of a shits and giggles type of thing.

Own all the Blitz products (except Monkey), actually bought them twice as I once transferred all of my licenses to a friend that couldn't afford them and then bought them all again my next payday. If I 5+ year old bug was fixed in Blitz Plus, I would probably still be using it. That said, I would never buy a BRL product again.

I will definately be sticking with Monkey :)
If I had my choice, I would get Basic4android. Have to wait until I can afford it, though. *mumbles about medical bills and rips at hair*

Kuron (I tried to pm you this message but I could not). Basic4android is amazing. I wish you can use it. I have been happy with it. I have a code for %50 off any B4A license: bkgmdv
hope you are able to one day get it and that your wife heals well (medical bills).

not trying to spam here, long time appreciative lurker of pb forums (ignore current account name, was lurker with older nick but I forgot it) and just want to help out another in need. Good luck :)

@Kuron ... Good suggestions about adding on-screen control. Probably would need to do this if I do find something to take the game to a mobile market. I'm still testing out different things and I really appreciate all the suggestions. AGK does offer a free version for you to use. Go to http://www.appgamekit.com and on the far right you can download a free trial. You will need to send them your e-mail address and they send you a link back showing where to download. It allows 30 days of testing before the "nagging" begins ... But even after that begins, you can still use it I believe (I haven't quite had it 30 days yet). Sorry to hear about your wife but I hope that she is doing better. Having any type of medical anything is very expensive ... at least here in the U.S.

Finally I want to apologize to the moderator of the forum if discussing other software is considered "taboo". Some forums are more forgiving then others. The power and ease of PureBasic is really unmatched in the software arena. What it does, it does very well and I am by no way abandoning it entirely for something else.

Once again, thanks to everyone for the suggestions and comments. :)

I'm sure they don't mind chatting about other software, considering it's mobile related ;)

If I knew about PureBasic when I used to work for a holiday booking company I would have used PB instead of Visual Basic from Microsoft, that says alot about PB ;)

Just a question: What software did you use for the meshes and the graphics? :)

Hi J@ck!
I use a program called "Animation:Master" which has been around for a long time but isn't as popular as the "big boys". You can view more about it here: http://www.hash.com ... Although A:M is a spline based program rather than a polygon based, there is a free plugin called AMXtex that will convert things to DirectX for you (including the animations and textures). Then I use Fragmotion to convert to XML and then OGRE's conversion tools to create the MESH. I hope that helps ....

By the way, I am finishing up on a NEW version of Izzy taking into account a lot of the suggestions that I got here on the forum. Those of you who ordered the older version will be getting an e-mail from me with instructions on how to download the newest version for FREE. Just have to finish up on some things and I will let everyone know when it is ready ... :D

A new version of "Izzy the Busy Squirrel" is now ready (I hope) ... I took the advice of those of you on the forum and made some adjustments to my game. Special thanks to everyone who helped with these suggestions. I have a demo version for everyone to download as well as a video tutorial. Please visit here:

http://www.pencilwedgees.com (Flash required for my site ... sorry)

And just select the "GAME" link from there to find out more. Once again I would like to thank Fred and the team for giving me the tools to be able to create this ... Thank you!
