Just glanced an hold news that reports Microsoft is going to stop support for JAVA in November 2004...

They haven't supported it for a long time. I think it was three years ago when they removed all Java contents from their webshites... eh, websites.

Don't be paranoid, guys. No malicious intent from Billy. They simply have no time to support Java itself and Java content on their HP. All guys are needed recently to write the daily flood of security bulletins. :wink:

To be more precise, it's Sun which have sued Microsoft because they shipped a not fully Java compliant Virtual Machine with Windows which lead to strange and instable result. The result is MS has to remove the build in Java from their OS. Not a big deal tough.

... perhaps not a big thing, but a good thing, i'm more than pissed off at microsoft for building things in such a way that other software no longer works... on purpose... as is my impression, in my humble opinion etcetera of course

(javaesque stuff, html server / browser issues, thunking, msn / messenger, and the list goes on and on...)

oh, don't get me wrong, i still use windows, because it's the best thing for my needs, not because it's the best idea ever or because i like it

if i would have a viable alternative i would immediately switch... and yet, there is none :-(
