SlickEdit for MacOS, public Beta
Re: SlickEdit for MacOS, public Beta
Thanks for the info but...
"SlickEdit needs permission to access the license file directory. Type your password to allow this."
I'm not giving that, so I selected "Cancel". Then it lets you select the license file you downloaded from your email. But then it fails and says to contact support.
It already has issues before I can even try it out. It lost my interest and has been removed from my Mac.

Hence the reason it is only available on a site and not the app store.J. Baker wrote:Thanks for the info but...

Best wishes to the PB community. Thank you for the memories.

Thank you, J. Baker. Unfortunately this can happen with Beta tests.J. Baker wrote:Thanks for the info but...

I forwarded it to the SlickEdit support, they may be interested in this.
Thanks again.
Re: SlickEdit for MacOS, public Beta
I'm sure it was just wanting access to install it's own "*.lic" file because the beta is only usable until January. But I didn't want to give just any app access to Keychain Access. It's password protected for a reason. They should have just made their app check a online time server and if it was beyond January, then the app no longer runs. Doing that in a encrypted way would have made more sense, in my mind.
