The US government gave Raytheon BBN Technologies a $10.5 million today to develop what it called "serious games" that result in better decision-making by teaching players to recognize and diminish the effects of their own biases when analyzing information used to make decisions.

Raytheon to develop "serious games"
Re: Raytheon to develop "serious games"
Well, the topic is nothing new to me. I remember that e.g. Crytek (the developers of Far Cry and Crysis) sells their engine for the purpose of serious games since several years: http://mycryengine.com/index.php?conid=58
Didn't it all start with the game America's Army which is sponsored by - guess what - the US army, and has first been released in 2002?!

If any of you native English speakers have any suggestions for the above text, please let me know (via PM). Thanks!

True "serious games" are nothing new. What struck me as ambitious here are the goals of the game. Most ideas like this fizzle but once in awhile, something very useful is born.
