News to me!DoctorLove wrote:Oh btw, nothing wrong with objective-c, too bad it isnt a cross-platform language. Is it so hard for you to compare?

C provides the infinitely-abusable goto statement, and labels to branch to. Formally, the goto is never necessary, and in practice it is almost always easy to write code without it. We have not used goto in this book. -- K&R (2nd Ed.) : Page 65

I just didn't expect to see the original windowing classes in the demo apps.

You think that is bad, you should have seen Objective-C when I first started using it in the late 80s.idle wrote:objective c on windows and linux isn't quite the same as cocoa from what I can see

Apple usually doesn't comment on any changes until the changes take effect.

Apple will soon be as dead as Steve Jobs, so forget about them, they suck.

But probably more interesting!utopiomania wrote:Apple will soon be as dead as Steve Jobs, so forget about them, they suck.
This quarter, Apple didn't just generate more revenue than Microsoft, it made more money,
too: $24.67 billion vs. $16.43 billion in revenues and $5.99 billion vs. $5.23 billion.
Apple is far from dead.

Re: Apple wont accept Carbon apps from november on
I think that the mystery of Apple not accepting Carbon apps from november on
is solved. Apple seemed to plan from november on to require sandboxing for
all Mac apps. Now Apple has postponed this requirement to March:
For Xcode developers enabling sandboxing is easy: they only have to activate
the checkbox "Enable Entitlements" in their target system settings:

Ah, I read something similar @ http://apple.slashdot.org/story/11/11/0 ... store-apps
It would be interesting on how PB for OSX would cope.

Another website with some insite:

The problem might be bigger than we (well you guys/gals that have an Apple computer) may anticipate.
Maybe Linux will be the only viable alternative to Windows after all...
Besides there is another storm on the horizon (nothing to do with Apple though):

Suppose the computer sales will go up just before Windows 8 will hit the streets.
