Actually it doesn't make sense, manufacturing the hardware is bloody hard work and for most manufacturers the margins are razor thin too. Did you see HP's recent announcement? What if Samsung and HTC felt Google were sidelining them and decided to change OS? It has already been shown Android apps run seamlessly with Alien Dalvik on MeeGo, HP are now looking for licensees for webOS or they might even do the unthinkable and put more focus on WP7. How long will Android stay relevant then?
