what the hell is Apple doing?

Post by J. Baker »

They must really hate flash. This is to a point of sabotage. OS X Lion is looking less appealing each time I read something on the net about it. They got rid of Rosetta, added some iOS UI (which I don't care for), and now this... I love my Mac but I don't care too much for this new OS release.

From the Adobe website
UPDATE: The final release of Mac OS X Lion (10.7) provides the same support for Flash hardware video acceleration as Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6). The previous “Known Issue” suggesting that video hardware acceleration was disabled in Lion was incorrect and based on tests with a pre-release version of Mac OS X Lion that related to only one particular Mac GPU configuration. We continue to work closely with Apple to provide Flash Player users with a high quality experience on Mac computers.

Personally i think we should all embrace open standards instead of relying on proprietary plugins. Good on Apple!!!
C provides the infinitely-abusable goto statement, and labels to branch to. Formally, the goto is never necessary, and in practice it is almost always easy to write code without it. We have not used goto in this book. -- K&R (2nd Ed.) : Page 65

Steve Jobs is doing what he has always done. He's showing the world, through Apple, what a class A number one jerk he is.

Considering the age of that character I'm rather surprised you even recognized it...

Well, I'm 34. I grew up watching He-Man, Thundercats, and so forth. ;)

I'll be 29 soon, but I just can't watch most of the stuff from the 80's anymore..

I dunno. I've been ruined by some of the higher quality Anime series' that have plot and substance, I guess..

It was fun when I was a kid, I guess I demand more out of my entertainment now.. But I would still watch G.I Joe or Transformers all day long.

I guess I'm a bit strange, by the time He-Man and Thundercats came out and were popular, I in my mid to late twenties and didn't watch cortoons of any kind, discovered He-Man and later the Thundercats while flipping through channels looking for something to watch. To this day I still don't know what made me stop and watch those two shows. I grew to really like He-Man, but the Thundercats, though good, never got my interest like He-Man did.

And She-Ra, a spin-off of He-Man, was crap, I only saw two or three episodes of that show. I hope it died a merciful and quick death.

And isn't it strange how an avatar has managed to hijack this thread? Could it be that nobody wanted to talk about Apple in the first place?
