Share it with the world?

Post by utopiomania »

I ALWAYS pay for the software I use. ALWAYS. Now, there is this author that took my money 10 mnth ago, for
another registration, and an additional CD he never delivered.

I can handle the loss, obviously, but this is about principles. He took my money, and didn't post the CD, so the
question is:

The software is registered to me, how can I share it with the world without risking anything. And how can I share
the rest of this pricks offerings with the world the same way?

Any ideas?

When you let yourself sink to the level of someone who's screwed you, you lose a little bit of who you are. Stay the course.

Well, not in this case. Its fucking personal, I'm going to sink to his level, just to get to him.

But I need some advice. PM's are welcome. Read the intro.

Well said.

@utopiomania
Now to make you feel better, maybe you'd like to pick up a bundle of good games (all playable on Windows, Mac and Linux) for any price you want. You'll be supporting a good cause as well:

There are a few questions are unanswered here. So, let's ask them.

Why has it taken you 10 months to decide to post this and do something about it?
Have you contacted him within this 10-month period to find out what's happening?
If he answered, I assume he said "no" to sending you the paid app and other CD?
Does he have a valid reason for not sending it to you, ie. is he out of business?

So, now you want to become a criminal and engage in software piracy. I know you're angry, but that isn't the answer. Try legal approaches. Can you get a chargeback from your credit card company, or refund from PayPal? Have you asked them, even though it's been 10 months? You may be surprised!

All this profanity, anger and vengeance attitude is not needed here. It makes me lose respect for you. But I understand you're going through a psycho period right now and not thinking clearly, so I'll forgive you. Stay focussed, lose the anger, and get him back LEGALLY.

Your situation is one where since you paid, you LEGALLY have the right to download a cracked version of the paid app, or a keygen for it, or whatever. And you WON'T be breaking the law. Why not just do that? Search torrent sites for what you paid for, and use it! Your morals and conscience will be clear, and I don't think anyone here would consider that to be stealing, either. I don't.
