Can anybody offer suggestions to my problem?
A couple of days ago while downloading mail, I received at least a dozen
so called e-mails from Microsoft, which I recognised as being bogus and
deleted them without opening the attachments. But I still got a warning
that I had got WORM_SWEN.A virus files on my system from my virus checker,
I have spent the last two days getting rid of them as Fix-It Utilities
was unable to delete the files and Windows (ME) would not let me delete
them directly. I eventually downloaded a program from Norman Data Defense
Systems to eliminate them and repair the registry.
Now however where I used to have a CD/DVD reader as drive G: and a
CD writer as drive H: the reader does not appear and the writer appears
as drive G:. The light on the drive flashes on during startup as it used to
and now the drawer opens and closes at random intervals all on it's own
but it will not open or close when I press the button or recognise a CD
if I insert one while it is open.
Anyone have any suggestions as to what to do next?
Thanks
MikeB
