iPad alternative ? Found !
There is a difference between knowing the code and writing the code.
May the code be strong in your projects.

Re: iPad alternative ? Found !
There are lots of fine alternatives these days. I myself prefer units with screens that are five to six inches rather than ten inches. Something the size of a paperback book is far more portable than something the size of a sheet of paper. I'm no fan of Apple but even I will admit that the only one negative I can think of that the iPad has is it's size. I used to consider it's limitation to only AT&T a negative but it's now available on Verizon which is my preferred cellular provider.
Personally I think that smart phones will take over the portable device market. Right now the only thing holding them back is their terrible run times on a single charge. The way I use it most days mine will run two days between charges but because I can't predict how much I'll need it on any day I charge it every night so that I can start each day with a full charge. What smart phones really need to do is achieve the week between charges that basic and feature phones provide.

No real links? Youtube could be anything (and blocked in most work places).

I only have to charge my Symbian phone twice a week.GWarner wrote:Personally I think that smart phones will take over the portable device market. Right now the only thing holding them back is their terrible run times on a single charge.
R.I.P Symbian
Archos are opening their tablets up for developers so you can try installing other operating systems on them, they have a version of Angstrom Linux available on their site you can use as a test run: http://www.archos.com/products/ta/archo ... gb&lang=en
When some boffin gets Debian, Ubuntu or MeeGo running well on one of these then I'll start taking an interest but as long as they've got one of those dull cut-down operating systems like Android or iOS I'd really much rather have a netbook. You get a much better spec for half the price if you opt for a netbook anyway.

I am sticking with me IBM X41t tablet... holds a charge for 3 weeks and lasts 8 hours... OK so it is pen based instead of touch based... I use an art program on it that lets that pen do MAGIC things!
And it runs the tablet version of my restaurant POS software nicely!
