Re: The Death of DARK Basic
To be fair, they still have a relatively active and helpful community, and in that regard a lot of functionality has been added to the language via DLL's and wrappers, etc.
However, I too became disenchanted with DBP. I had watched PB on and off since it first showed up all those years ago, and I was struggling with finding a language I could learn and use that could generate compiled executables, etc.. So when I say the big sale price on their stuff I took a stab at it.
Be that as it may, it just seemed difficult to do some pretty simple things, and why I might still use it in the future, the lack of any kind of real GUI toolset/support, or other things that might make development easier kind of put me off in the long wrong. I wouldn't have felt so burned over $50 if it was just the big pack on sale I had bought, but I also purchased a few plugins etc that I assumed were made by them (my honest mistake) that were quite old by that time and no longer maintained. So that put me off even more.
Still, there are some good folks that use DBPro and I'm sure it will still be a good language to use and for people to learn with. I hope it does get updates in the future, but everything seems to be FPSCreator oriented at the company level now, and I guess Dark Basic never really did make them any real money.

Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit / Whose Hoff is it anyway?

Their site looks fine to me. Where is your proof that it's dead?
I compile using 5.31 (x86) on Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit).
