Hello, I am new to PB, searched through forum archives but still have some questions:
1. It says you dont need dlls after compilation, is it good for 2d obly? because there is a huge engine3d.dll and it seems like my 3d apps will need it?
2. I am planning to make my 2d game available for nt/2000. I saw a flag at the compilation menu (nt friendly or something), is it guaranteed that all 2d commands will work on these systems?
3. I guess that IDE has anything one wants but is there something more professional-looking, if you you know what I mean... I found an ide based on scintilla control, are there any other options?
4. And the last question: the games I found don't really look impressive though it seems like PB is really powerful, what's up with that? I would appreciate your giving me links to shareware sites or may be published games...
PB is great, I am a B3D fan which I used for both 2d and 3d apps, but your product seems much more promising and I am really impressed with the size of the compiled applications... great job!
? about PB, its DLLs, 3d and 2d caps, its IDE

1. If you use the 3d engine you'll need the engine3d.dll present in the same dir has your app. All other commands don't require dll's, this is beacuse we use a 3rd party engine called OGRE.
2. It is supposed to work, but it does not (i had the same problem) cause it requires DX7 minimum (not available for NT) and someone *hint* forgot to include sprite_NT, joy_nt, keyboard_nt in the main distro....
3. Personaly i use JaPBe, it suits my needs, but there are others to try (including notepad)
4. Well check out these: http://www.purebasic.com/screenshots.php3
You have to understand Pure is widely more used to create apps, despite the fact it has some nice game features... If you take a look at the annoucement link and in the game link, you'll find some cool stuff...
