If I'm bored doing the actual program I spend time making the routines to nice up the gfx easier - for instance I've made a system that has a background for the icon - the icon itself and then an icon overlay - I kinda pinched this technique from how Apple do the iPhone icons. These are then drawn at 80x80 and scaled to fit the about 80% (ish) of the width of the screen - so the bigger the screen, the better the icons.
It can work for any report that is written in English (for the pronoun tracking to work) - or with a bit of modification any language that has 2 genders and related words that do not change if the gender changes. (if that makes sense, eg not a different word for book if its a boys book or a girls book).Can this just be used in the U.K.? What would need adapting for New Zealand, for instance?
So, it should work for New Zealand, but I'd also have to find out what the legal requirements are for a New Zealand school report. I think Australian reports (maybe similar to New Zealand reports? ) have to have all sorts of charts and other information - these could be added though - I'd just have to know what they are.
If anyone has contacts at an English speaking school in a country other than the UK (or a non-primary UK school) then please ask them to get in touch with me and I'll work with them to enhance the program so it also works for that type of school.
